Job Title:   Accounts Assistant with Reception Duties

Reporting To:   Accounts Administration Manager
Hours of Work:  Mon – Fri, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Head Office Magherafelt 

Role Overview:

This role will work as part of the accounts team carrying out duties that will include sales ledger, purchase ledger, statement reconciliation, debt recover, vehicle tax, PSV and insurance and dealing with queries to assist with the smooth running of the accounts department. 

Key Activities / Responsibilities:

• To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, especially the Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy. 
• Processing Customer, Supplier and Sub-Contractor Invoices
• Processing Customer, Supplier and Sub-Contractor Payments
• Ensuring complete and accurate records.
• Data upload/imports/exports to Sage
• Dealing with customer/supplier queries that may arise.
• Processing personnel expenses
• Producing monthly customer statements and credit control
• Managing vehicle tax, PSV and insurance, updating MID Database
• Managing stationery and general consumable orders
• Answering the telephone (back up to auto attendant and CS team) and dealing with general inquiries/distributing calls.
• Circulating incoming post to relevant personnel
• Assisting colleague Accounts Administrators
• To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required.


Education / Experience:

Essential
• 2 years’ experience of working in a finance department in a similar role
• Data input experience
• IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable
• Part / Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) or qualified by experience
• Sage 50 Accounts experience

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Ability to manage workload effectively to meet deadlines & targets
• The ability to deal with the unexpected and good problem-solving skills
