Role Overview:

This role will have overall responsibility and accountability for excellent operational service delivery & sustainable growth of the M&E division.

As M&E Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the division’s growth strategy, maximizing profit by driving efficiencies and controlling costs at an operational level, building a motivated and high performing team through effective leadership and line management of staff.

The role will utilise commercial, operational, and technical resource to efficiently meet contractual & business objectives. You will have oversight and be accountable for the management of sub-contractors, direct labour, supply chain partners, planners & administrators. Managing the CFM and client relationship is especially important to the role, ensuring transparency and good channels of communication exist and are maintained.

As Head of Operations you will be responsible for:
  • Translate strategic goals into operational plans to achieve the required targeted sustainable growth in contracts and profitability.
  • Work with the Leadership team to create, communicate, and implement the company strategy, business priorities and targets.
  • Ensuring systems in place to provide senior management with accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all operations comply to company policies and procedures relating to Environmental, Quality, Health, and Safety utilising digital systems.
  • Influence any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to all stakeholders.
  • Uses open feedback mechanisms from the operations team with other departments to ensure the integration of the company strategy with all activities.
  • Oversee and support with the commercial delivery on projects, ensuring that all commercial processes, objectives & reporting are being delivered.
  • Take a lead role in building a strong project management & service delivery culture with the operations team.
  • Work alongside the HR team to ensure people management issues are satisfactorily resolved and relevant HR policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintains and constantly develops innovative and cost effective operational & commercial processes to achieve bottom line budgets against monthly targets whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Representing CFM at weekly and monthly client meetings ensuring CFM’s position on all contract matters is maintained and promoted to the highest standard & with professionalism.
  • Manage and delivery of KPI targets for contracts, where required ensuring monthly KPI compliance without exception.
  • Lead out and deliver business improvement processes, taking responsibility for delivery and oversight of all business improvement initiatives across department/contract areas.
  • To chair & lead department monthly management meetings ensuring balance score card targets are achieved for the department/area which help evolve and develop processes and business delivery.
  • Ensure there is effective induction of all new staff and supply chain ensuring they receive adequate training and advice on job role and company processes prior to them commencing work.
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required to ensure successful delivery of all ongoing works and contracts within the CFM workstream.
  • To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures

What you'll need to succeed:
 Essential
  • CSR Black Card or NVQ equivalent
  • Extensive business experience including relevant multi-site gained within the construction & Facilities Management sector
  • Mechanical & or Electrical background/sound technical knowledge of services/systems 
  • Experience in managing relationships at a senior level and managing a diverse (in terms of skill base and experience) team of people
  • Strong operational, commercial & contractual capability and understanding
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • A valid UK Driver’s Licence

 Preferred
  • Previous experience in a management / leadership role
  • IT skills & knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel,)
  • Previous experience in working on MTC Maintenance & Servicing Contracts / Social Housing and/or public sector government contracts
